Center for Parent Information and Resources

The Center for Parent Information and Resources has an excellent resource page on its website about the basics of school inclusion, how to make it happen, and what products and curricula can facilitate it. It defines inclusion as more than simply being placed in a typical classroom—it means participating in everyday life as part of one’s community and being embraced as a full member of a group.

Under “Making Inclusion Happen,” readers can find lists of inclusive strategies, including afterschool activities, various academic subject areas, publications and a video and manual entitled “Adapting Curriculum and Instruction to Inclusive Classrooms.
