Talent Management, an American website and magazine targeted to human resource professionals, recently published an article about how diversity and inclusion have been recognized by companies as important components of their business strategies. While diversity may have once been considered a somewhat meaningless buzzword, rarely applied in a practical way, research now indicates that businesses see it as essential to their corporate culture—and to their profits.
In response to a 2015 survey from the research branch of Talent Management, almost three quarters of human resource professionals indicated that they see diversity and inclusion as a “strategic enabler” and an essential part of business strategy, rather than something that simply costs them money. More than one third of respondents considered diversity and inclusion crucial to success.
