Feast of the Fields was an awesome field-to-fork experience at the W. Galen Weston Centre for Food (CFF) at Durham College, Whitby Ontario.
This event featured food stations manned by aspiring student chefs. The melon boats, zesty shrimp and eggplant with maple syrup were some of the amazing sample dishes showcasing produce grown in the CFF gardens. The students from the Food and Farming program led tours through the gardens and fields. The beverage stations featured local wineries, distilleries and breweries. Fresh flowers, produce and prepared food were available for purchase from the Pantry. Congratulations to all of the students and staff who hosted the Feast of the Fields. It was a spectacular event!
The W. Galen Weston Centre for Food (CFF) is an accessible venue. Universal design features are also apparent in the newly designed patio area. For this event, several food stations were positioned in the field which were not readily accessible however, the students and staff hosts graciously offered to provide assistance to access food from these stations.
