Celebrating Diversity + Disability: School Leadership E-Workbook

Diversity is what makes the world such an interesting place, and at Together We Rock! we believe in celebrating the things that make us different. This electronic workbook is designed to help teachers and elementary students (grades 4 to 8) in their journey to better understanding diversity and disability. The e-workbook focuses on the following questions:

• What do we need to know about diversity and people with disabilities?

• How are people with disabilities stereotyped?

• Why is using people-first language important?

• What are the best things to do when you meet a person with a disability?

The e-workbook includes a questionnaire for students to first determine their schools’ level of understanding about diversity and disability, and then decide whether increasing their understanding should be made a priority. The e-workbook also includes a planning tool to help students make a difference through action.
